Re: Solar panels on GS52

I have an Air Breeze 24V. Between 8 and 15 kts it does make a bit of noise, once wind is stronger the noise reduces. I believe that you can get quieter blade sets. In my opinion windgens really come into best effect when you are in tradewind conditions with 15kts plus all the time. Sailing upwind it...

Re: Rusty mast base GS52

On the same theme it is also worth checking the condition of the backing plates for the keel bolts, I have seen these to rust badly too. I believe some were originally spec'd in mild steel.

Re: Solar panels on GS52

Where are you planning to cruise and for how long? I have 2 solar panels which I put on deck when the sun shines. They just plug into the charge side of the batteries. I stow them at sea. They are small enough to not require a regulator, but big enough to give enough amps to contribute... maybe abou...

Re: Water capacity

I reckon there's 620 litres in two tanks. The port one is under the saloon table and can be accessed under the aft settee cushion (you have to lift the locker base to get to it. The stb one is under the walkway between the back of the centre settee and the seating area on the stb side. You just need...

Royal Exploring Isles Yacht Squadron

This 'pub' is strictly 'Bring Your Own' and is only open when someone bothers to lift the shutters. Then it becomes the most important place to be within about 100 NM.

It isn't easy to get to either as the charts are not good enough for pilotage. Its position is
17 10.9079 S
179 00.1583 W
Enjoy
